Lakeside Trio

Finally; it's finished (enough). Xiaomei, Chris, and Dante enjoying a summer break at the lake, because there's so many summer artworks that are set at the beach and not enough at a lake...and summer is almost over, but my timing is that far off anyway.

And now for some rambling:
I spent two months working on and off of this piece--some time was spent correcting the sketch, a lot of time was spent colouring, and there were still a handful of errors I found in the process that I correctly as best as I could. I also had much of the usual frustrations that goes into a dedicated CG project such as this, and my computer even rest itself due to a power surge while I worked on this at one point...and of course, I didn't save the work at the time it happened...

Anyway, I know that there are a lot of people that can make CGs shitloads better than I can and in a lot less time. But my intention wasn't to try to be the best. No; I just wanted to improve my technique if even just a little bit, and I feel that I did learn quite a bit working on this, so I feel like I've accomplished my goal for this piece. However; I believe that I can do better so I am already planning my next CG project.

So many people have been a tremendous help in the making of this; from the people who commented on the rough draft to the people who took the time to look over the in-progress screenshots on my LJ and offer their own advice. I can't thank y'all enough for putting up with my evident idiocy when it comes to digital colouring.

EDIT: Shadi is clearly brain-dead from AWA or else she'd have remembered that Chris' bangs are dyed. It's fixed now.
